Editorial Policy

How SideProfit evaluates products and recommendations.

SideProfit publishes buying guides, creator gear recommendations, software reviews, and practical workflow advice for solo operators. The goal is clarity, not hype.

Reader usefulness comes first

We prioritize whether a recommendation is useful for a real reader with a real workflow, not whether a product has the loudest marketing.

Editorial judgment stays independent

Affiliate relationships, free samples, or outreach from brands do not guarantee coverage and do not determine the conclusion of a review.

Context matters more than specs alone

We evaluate who a tool or product is for, what problem it solves, what tradeoffs it creates, and when a cheaper option is enough.

Disclosures stay visible

When a page includes affiliate links or a commercial relationship, we disclose that clearly so readers understand the context.

Research and testing approach

Coverage may be based on hands-on use, comparative research, published documentation, pricing review, creator workflow analysis, or a combination of those methods.

When we have direct experience with a product, we focus on setup friction, learning curve, portability, reliability, accessory costs, and how the product performs in an ordinary workflow.

Updates and corrections

Product lines, prices, bundles, and promotions change over time. We update articles when a change meaningfully affects the recommendation.

If a factual error is discovered, we correct it and revise the relevant page as quickly as practical.
